You have friends all over the world, you just haven’t met them yet

A couple days ago I made an account at the website Couchsurfing, something that has widened my horizons of traveling the world. I'm in love with this whole concept that helps you connect and meet with new people. Most importantly, Couchsurfing helps you travel cheaper, because you will never have to pay for staying at a hotel again with this website.

Once you sign up for Couchsurfing, you gain access to millions of homes in all the cities of the world - where you can stay for free. The hosts offer a couch, a spare room or other places to stay inside their home to travelers. It's an incredibly budget-friendly way to travel to other cities, as well as an oppurtunity to meet locals on your travels.

The philosophy of Couchsurfing is that everyone can gain and give to the community. You aren't forced to host anyone before you 'surf'. It's also free to make a profile on Couchsurfing, although you can pay to become a verified member. There's also a 'place page', where it's possible to connect with other travelers in the city you are in.

It's not every day that you stumble upon something on the internet that could actually change your life. Traveling seems more possible for me now, and it's all thanks to this website.
